The waning days of autumn

We approach the Winter Solstice 

the colors of autumn 

turn to

the drab of winter 

I take my camera  

try to capture 

the cusp of blue sky 

bright color 

and gray skies 

 drab shadows 

the pale distant sun 

 of a late mid-December

afternoon
